My husband and I are shopping for a home in Columbia. We are looking at older homes in the Shandon area. One of the homes we are looking at would need a second bathroom added upstairs. It would involve moving some walls and running new supply and waste lines. There is an existing bathroom on the second floor, but we would be converting that bathroom into the master bath, also involving moving a wall.
My question is, what kind of professional should we contact to get an estimate for this? Do I need an architect or a bath designer? Is there such a thing as bathroom contractor? Can you recommend anyone? Or, would this project be more trouble than it's worth? We have only lived on new construction and are clueless about older homes.
