Hello,
I will be moving to Columbus in 2 weeks.
I am looking for apartments buy Greystone is the only one that seems to keep showing up.
I will be working for Aflac.
Any ideas which areas will are good and upscale?
Is cab service good?

I will be living alone. No kids, so don't care abt schools.

Any advice and help is appreciated.

Thank You in anticipation.

Greystone has a lot of apartments in the area and they're pretty good but Woodruff has some good apartments too. Are you working at the Aflac tower or in Corporate Ridge?

How about living in Midtown? It is in the middle of the city. There is a great park which offers a lot of cool things. There are some nice homes to rent in that area. Close to major shopping and downtown.

Are you opposed to living downtown?

Default Moving to Columbus

I want a more suburban setting.
Tired of living in multi-storied apartment buildings.

So I don't have anything against living downtown but would like more spacious apartments. Hence trying to stay away from downtown.

Not sure about midtown though. Are there any good apartment complexes in midtown?

Thank you both for replying.

If you want more suburban living, check out Lakeside Village in Midland. Lullwater is another good spot on the northside. There aren't any new apartments that I can think of in Midtown. More older, established properties. There are a lot of cool houses for rent though. Just a really cool area.

I do have Lakeside Village on my list of apartments to check out.
I will be living by myself so an independent house might not be a good idea.
I prefer apartment communities.

I am pretty sure Downtown Columbus is not as congested as downtown NY/NJ and yet I do want to live in a fairly new community. Also heard North side of the city is more residential.

I don't drive so will have to rely on cabs for a while so that is another factor to consider.

Is midland in Columbus or is it a different city?

Thanks.

Midland is in Columbus. It's a city to itself to some extent. It's a booming area right now. A cab to Aflac would be at least 6-8 miles, maybe more? Will you be getting a car?

I plan to buy a car but not sure when.
Have to take care of a few more things first.
How is the traffic? I was also looking at 'Crossings at Veterans' but someone said that the traffic is bad in that area.

How much does a cab ride cost. 6-8 miles is abt $15-20 one way?

Is Maple Ridge a part of the town? Are there more apartment complexes in this area apart from Greystone at Maple Ridge and Lullwater?
