Hi, my A/C unit went out a little over a week ago and I called the rental office for a maintenance request. They finally came about 4 days later, the guy stayed for most of the afternoon, saying he had to basically build a new unit as the motor had burned out. He then said he needed to order a new part and would be back sometime to finish the job. He never gave a specific time so after two days, I called the rental office to ask what the status was, especially since the next day was supposed to be 97 degrees and I don't own any fans (why should I? I am supposed to have central air!). They sent someone over within the hour, but it was a different guy and he said that he wasn't sure how to proceed because he couldn't tell where the guy was at in the process. So he came back with the original guy the next morning. They fixed the A/C, but said they needed to order a part because the blower fan wouldn't shut off. So my blower fan has been running continuously for 6 days now, which is going to cause a definite increase in my electric bill, which already strains my single income budget. I went to the rental office yesterday in person and was told a manager would call me back but still haven't heard anything and the maintenance men still have not returned...my blower fan is still running as I type this.

My question is this: what can I do about this? I feel that the rental office should be responsible for the difference in my electric bill because I simply cannot afford it. I have not yet seen my bill for this month, but to run something like that continuously has to use a lot of power. I just want to know what my legal options are because this is through no fault of my own and I need this taken care of.
