I need a crash course in Power Point. I can do the basic slide with text, but I need to learn how to create special effects and animations.

Can anyone point me to an on-line tutorial?

The online help in Powerpoint is very good. I suggest you start there. Some of the help is built-in to the product, others will take you to online tutorials.

First thing to learn in PPT is to use the Master correctly. That makes your life much easier. Build a suitable Master and then you spend far less time editing each slide and you have consistency.

another hint: if you plan on running your presentation from another computer: use only the fonts that are installed in Powerpoint, or websafe fonts.

Did you know that you can make very effective slide shows with a pdf file?

Thank you all! I know next to nothing about Powerpoint, so I really appreciate your help and suggestions!

i've no idea what the "Master" is, but that'll be the first thing I look into!

Thank you!
