Apple has just bricked my iPad2.

Now I get to spend the evening researching what went wrong, and how to fix it.

I had no issues whatsoever updating my iPad2 or my iPhone4. What is the problem?

Apple didn't brick anything, and neither did you, even though you probably did something to interrupt the install.

If you can fix it, there is no brick.

I always hang back a bit whenever a new OS comes out to avoid the early hour bugs....

My DH updated his iPod touch with no problems, either.

You're right, of course, it's probably me who did something to mess up. It's stuck in a "do you want to restore?" "Can't restore" cycle. Apple is phoning me tomorrow morning.

Hooray! They fixed it!

They had me try to do the update/restore using a brand new user account on my iMac. That didn't work. Then he had me to it on a PC, and that worked. So he reckons there was some sort of software issue on my iMac (which is quite old).

I'm glad you got it fixed, but having to use a PC to fix it, because a Mac wouldn't work, is so ironic!
