I have an ex-friend who is very good with computers. I don't trust her at all. I was wondering if she could log onto my home computer and look through my stuff. Is this possible without my permission?

Just curious.

It seem so easy on Person of Interest.

In Hollywood's fantasy world everything is simple...

As soon as I figure how the Hollywood types can search a 1 PB database in under 5 seconds I'll be a millionaire....

Just one last question. Is there any way I can protect my computer?

Checking out the settings on a new laptop, I just found that Remote Acess was on as default.
For one thing, make sure that is not on.

I have a MacBook and under Security Settings, there was "Disable remote control infrared receiver", so I checked it.

That doesn't hurt but is different than my suggestion which was for Windows and for Remote Assistance/Desktop.
Somebody that knows Mac's will probably have better ideas
