I will believe it when I see it. Early news of 8.1 (months ago) announced that the Start Menu would return in 8.1. As it is 8.1 introduced an icon that offers part of the functionality of the old start menu.

No it didn't, it was announced that the Start BUTTON would return, which it did. It was always clear that the menu would not be there in 8.1

True, though many people made no distinction between the "start menu" and the "start button." Many were under the impression that the start menu would return, and some articles states this outright (albeit falsely.)

So, I am guessing, by version 8.5, Start Menu will be pretty much like Windows 7's?

2 step forward, 2.5 step back.

Way to go MS! [/sarcasm]

The 80 year olds in accounting don't handle that very well.
