I have this go to movie webiste ( that will not disclose) and i guess for some reason my mabook has pop ups almost every other click. ALL THE TIME!!!! its very frustrating dont want to download any software to clean it I want A new hard drive installed by apple. just wondering if anyone has had their hard drive replaced by apple people and what i can do to clean my laptop without installing any extra software
I can't see why a Macbook Pro (which I use running Yosemite) would be more susceptible to pop-ups than a Windows/Linux PC.
With that said since you didn't tell us what browser you use (so we must assume Safari) it could be that Safari blocks less pop-ups than Firefox/Chrome <whatever>...
I use Chrome with Adblock Plus, Ghostery and Scriptblock and am quite happy that the pop-ups/ads and all the other garbage blocked.
I suggest you don't bring your Macbook Pro to the Apple store for a hard disk replacement because it's causing more pop-up ads displayed when you go to a certain website.
I promise you egg on your face would be an understatement and you will be highly embarrassed when they turn your request down.
My suggestion to you is install Chrome with Adblock Plus, Ghostery and Scriptblock. (I don't use Firefox so can't comment on it, maybe someone else can chip in here).
Is your hard drive defective? If not there is no need to replace it, Apple certainly won't replace it under warranty just because you're getting pop ups.

For Firefox that would be Adblock Plus, Ghostery, and NoScript.
what are you talking about turn down my request i talked to a guy just the other day an he said they could but needed me to come in for an appointment to see how much it would cost and all that

Sure they can. But you'll pay and be back here in a few days with the exact same problem again.

Sure, you can replace your harddrive. And when you start clicking on your "movie sites" the same as you were before, you will be getting the same pop ups. Get an adblocker for your browser. Or....stay away from questionable sites. The Apple Store will love you for coming in to replace your hard drive for this, because they get easy money from you and they will have a good story to tell about you!

Go ahead and see how much it will cost. Then compare how much it costs to download Firefox or Chrome and add the extensions.

My 2010 MacBook Pro is running under Yosemite, and Safari is not getting any popups, at least not more than previous OS's. You may want to check Safari's "Security" found under Preferences and see if you have check-marked the box to block popups.

Which OS are you using? Anyway, make sure that you check-mark the box to block popups.
That said, it is a good idea to "Reset" the OS every now and then after you have check-marked all the boxes in Reset. However, some passwords to log-on at some websites will be "flushed" (lost), so you want to make sure that you remembers such passwords.
