In case you were wondering how detached Lenovo is from reality, they deemed that a good consolation for affected users was 6 free months of Mcafee

That's like hitting someone with your car and then kicking them in the head for good measure

I have a 2010 Asus laptop and today when I logged on I declined some extra security from AVG and went to my desired site. Immediately a site with a superfish showed up warning me about the Lenovo super fish. I checked some websites explaining how to uninstall it.
I deleted Mozilla and only use IE as a browser.
Has this been happening to other non Lenovo users?

Yes. I got the AVG message on my Dell.
