I'm looking into getting a gaming pc, as it has come to my attention that my laptop just isn't fit for the games that I want to play. I have considered building it myself, but honestly, I'm terrified of the thought. I'm afraid to spend loads of money on parts that I will most likely end up breaking, ruining, or losing.
So, my question is this: Are there places around Portland in which you can bring all of a computers bits and pieces in individually and have them assembled by somebody else? The only place I know that deals with electronics is Bestbuy, but I don't know if they even build computers for people.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

www.ibuypower.com;CyberPowerPC ... I ordered my gaming pc from Walmart, but I chose what I wanted and it was put together. When it arrived the parts had been assembled at I Buy Power. I've not yet played games with it, but other than Windows8.1, I like it a lot. It's faster than any pc I've ever had and I'd had several.
The parts typically all go in one way and it's significantly easier than it sounds, plus it's fun
You should reconsider, but if you don't, check out your local frys or microcenter if you have one. They often have custom built machines there for different price ranges. Also check other computer stores (for instance Altex is a popular one in TX and they do custom PCs). You'll get more bang for your buck if you DIY though.
I've bought from cyberpower before; it was a great pc. I have built my own before and it isn't all that complicated other than trying to figure out what cpu/motherboard is compatible.
If you want it done locally there are probably small computer shops that could put it together for you. The problem is you would have to figure out what components to buy. Best bet would be going to cyberpower or Ibuypower and use their custom build function. They put it together and test it for you.
