Maybe its just a coincidence but I had a pair of headphones die yesterday, today one of the ears of my other headphones stop working. I sometimes turn the volume while watching videos loud. Both of the headphones were about 10 bucks kinda cheap..both I've had a few months. Could me turning up the volume high be the reason for my headphones dying or are they just cheap? I got my moneys worth...10 bucks 6-8 months of use for a pair of headphones is ok.
$10 headphones are basically disposable. They won't give you any real sound quality and can't handle much power. If you're serious about using headphones, invest in a good pair like one of these:
I'm Deaf. I regularly blast the headphones at 200% volume using VLC video player. So far, none have failed. That includes some $5 headphone bought at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago.
