Anyone an OE expert?

I'm having problems viewing contacts on the contact list.

When I open my address book, it shows all my addresses under the Main Identity Address book and when I manage Identities it's only showing one : Main Identity.

However, in the layout if I have the Contacts List displayed, there's nothing there.

It's like the address book isn't linked to the contacts info.

It was fine yesterday and no significant changes have been made to the computer.

Any thoughts?

1. click on 'Tools' menu then 'Email Accounts' option - see dialog.
2. click on the 'View or change existing directories or address books' option.
3. click 'Next'.
4. click on the 'Add' button then 'Additional Address Books' option.
5. click 'Next'.
6. click on the 'Outlook Address Book' option.
7. click 'Next'.
8. click on 'Finish' button.
9. click on the 'Contacts' tab - see contacts database.
10. right-click on the 'Contacts' option on the left-hand side (under 'My
Contacts').
11. click on the 'Properties' option - see multi-tabbed dialog.
12. click on the 'Outlook Address Book' tab.
13. ensure that the 'Show this folder as an e-mail address book' option is
selected.
14. click OK.

Is that for Express?

I don't have 'Email Accounts' under 'Tools' but I do have accounts. however, when I enter 'Accounts' I don't have an option for 'View of change existing directories or address books'.

Advice?

Thanks!

Maybe you need to double check the number of contacts in your address book.

did a google search after playing with my outlook express.

I bet that's it.

This is actually on a colleague's machine and they may very well have more than 1000. I'll see if I can reduce the size and fix the issue.

Thanks and I'll keep you posted!

You rock!

I pulled up the offending machine this morning and there were 1002 address book entries.

I deleted 3 and 'Poof'--the problem was fixed!

Thank you so much!

Thanks to both of you and my apologies for not mentioning CuCillin's contribution. Indeed he did get us pointed in the right direction.

Thanks again to both of you.
