I have ruined my pc. I unchecked some marks, and when it restarted it said to restart my pc in normal. Well I did and now I have like twenty startups or so. It also now does not automatically connect to the wireless connection. RAther it asks me if I want to connect just once or should I make a profile. What do I do to get it back to normal or at least not have so many startups without the PC crashing for good?

Yes, uncheck an item that is said to be a threat on sysinfo. When you exit msconfig let the computer restart, and check for problems.

Keep in mind that if you remove a check from the wrong item you can simply put it back and reboot again.

You should also go through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and look for any programs mentioning search, coupons, toolbar etc and remove them. If you aren't sure don't remove it, but ask here first.

This is not normal after removing some of the checks unless you removed a critical process, although I'm not sure what it would in msconfig....

Go back into msconfig and replace the checks then reboot.

An awful lot of the items here I just don't know enough about - mostly the Toshiba items.

I noticed HiJackThis on your computer. This can be a very dangerous tool if you don't know what you are doing. If you ran it recently and removed an item you shouldn't have, that could be the cause of your problems. Always use this program with extreme caution!

I have not used Hijackthis. I had a trojan once so I had to take it to Geeksquad. They installed the program. They also left it better than before. How do I get my computer to automatically connect me to the wireless. It now takes forever to?

I don't see anything there that's clearly malicious, but there's way more junk there than you need launched on start-up. Rather than letting all of it fight for memory and CPU while your machine is trying to start, much of it can be switched over to starting on demand. Unfortunately, most software these days comes in assuming it's the most important thing and always pushes itself into the start-up list, so folks end up with machines that when powered up take forever to respond to the user.

Lots of mirror links listed on that site, and at least a couple of dead ones too.

How you change to the "start on demand" setting varies from tool to tool, unfortunately. Different places in the Control Panel and elsewhere. Unless you can get someone to take your machine and do it for you, you'll have to figure them out individually yourself; there's info on that in pages linked from that Startups page above. It'll be laborious, though, and it's best done from a machine other than the one you're trying to fix while you're trying to fix it.

I think he may have gotten that last list from the Add or Remove Programs list. CCleaner, for example, doesn't show up on my startup list, nor does Hijack This -- others, too.
