I had already picked out this laptop:

Amazon.com: Sony VAIO VGN-AW125J/H 18.4-Inch Laptop (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive. Vista Premium) Grey: Electronics

And then I found this one:

Amazon.com: Sony VAIO VGN-AW120J/H 18.4-Inch Laptop (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive, Vista Premium) Grey: Electronics

which is $200 cheaper and I cannot find any difference at all. Weird.

Help?

Hard drive speed 5400 vs 7200. Didn't look any further than the descriptions above. I will look later. No time now.

Thats it :|

Well, I guess 7200 is better, but they overheat more...

EDIT: Thats it?!?!

I looked at the other general specs and they are identical. same Ghz, same processor, same grphx card, same everything.

I knew not that that the rpm made a $200 difference

Hi there
I am not sure why you want to go for a VAIO, Are you gonna use it for graphic purposes, casue otherwise it is just wasting money on a laxuary laptop for 2000$ almost, I suggest Dell laptops, and you can find them almost everywhere and heavy duty and what else do you want? Before purchasing the Sony one just check a Dell Laptop, take a look at www.techtobuy.com or even Dell.com
I hope it could help.

Another difference is the 1800 dollar model has Pre-installed OneCare 1 year free subscription (for what that is worth, lol).

Other than drive speed, that's the only difference I notice.

Gentleman, this thread is over 3 months old. I think the OP has already made the purchase.
