A couple of days ago I went to Kosciusko Park in Stamford's South End neighborhood to take some pictures, and was shocked at the advance stage of the various real estate projects along Washington Boulevard. Needless to say, as I drove through the area and took some pics from the car to show you guys.

First, let's put a little perspective. Here's a Google Earth image of the area. The numbers represent the location of each photo. North is to the left.

It doesn't looks like the South End anymore!

The project is a mixed use and does have residential components. The building on the right in Photo 4 sure looks like a residential building. Jay

The first phases of the project are being completed now. I think you will see people moving in next year. As for the streetcar, it is only in the planning stages now. There is no money for it yet and I believe many of the planning people that championed the project have been laid off by the new Mayor so I doubt you will see this for years. Jay

When I took the photos, it seemed as if some people are already living in the white building in the fourth photo.

Default south stamford redevelopment rentals etc

yes.a part owner of the company I work for Sothebys International Realty is building the project. Most of our agents have been inside both rental buildings and they are great. One has a more hip downtown urban loft feeling and is 95% rented. The other is a high rise luxury type rental building. The apartments are top notch some with great views etc.I went to the Fairway too which is awesome. There are many retailers slated to come into the area too.You wont recognize it very soon.

I live in the Lofts at Yale & Towne and just in two months there has been so much development. Fairway Market is pretty much in my backyard and from what I'm hearing and seeing their will be a Design Within Reach store in my backyard soon too. Fine by me There is construction in the area but they're moving fast, it seems like there is a new layer of building every week...
