Dayville is part of the town of Killingly. In the township you're not going to find much in the way of apartment complexes. Minimal number But you will find many 2-3 family homes with rental units , mainly in the Danielson section of town. There will also be some single family home rentals.

You'll also find rentals in the adjacent town of Plainfield to the south. You could also check in the city of Norwich further to the south, which would put you closer to that 30 mile distance.

Look the Eastern CT section of the CT Craigslist board. If you look at the apartments/ housing section, there is a place to check " dogs" and you will find listings that permit dogs.

Also find and work with a local realtor. They don't charge you- the fee is paid by the landlord.

Good luck

The original poster doesn't seem to have come back. Then too maybe he feels it isn't our business as to where he is working, which is his choice.

However, there is life in far north eastern CT.

In the town of Killingly alone , Frito Lay has a large plant which employees some 750 people or so. Then there is United Natural Foods, which employees 500 + . They are , I believe, a distributor and have another facility in PA. United Natural is in the Dayville section of town.

Other large employers ( over 150-200 people ) are a Staples distributor, a Delta Rubber plant, Brooks Drug distributor and Midland Sales.

Not to mention Polymedex Discovery Group; a large employer of chemists, engineers and manufacturing folks.

There's life up there!

You don't have to tell me that... I grew up there and still go there monthly for family visits.. What do you think the income is at 99% of the places listed?? And how many of them are highly skilled?? Just a few, and unemployment is pretty high there for that demogarphic already. THAT'S why I was curious why someone would be relocated there. ie. Mostly low paying/skilled jobs and plenty of local qualified inventory for the better paying/ more skilled jobs that in other places make relocation more common.

In 36 years I still have to EVER meet ANYONE in that area that "was relocated there by their employer". That enough reason for me to inquire.. ???
