Summer jobs for high schooler's are very competitive, especially since the college session ends first. The best thing for him do is to start searching early. After checking out the private sector (restaurants, groceries, retail), maybe check to see if there are any municipal summer job programs for youth.

I'm in the Mortgage Banking (Servicing) field. I grew-up in Connecticut, (Manchester and Windsor, WHS Class of 1973), but moved to the 'wild west' (San Francisco Bay area). I've always wanted to return to the Hartford area, but it's the old bugaboo: a decent paying job in the Hartford area, other than in the insurance field!

Given the Sub-Prime Mortgage fall-out, are there any Mortgage-related jobs in the greater Hartford area? (There must be a large contingent of the unemployed with the demise of MLNUSA in Middletown and Wallingford!)

Any tips on a good employment agency or headhunter in the Hartford area would be appreciated.

Thank you.

We have only 3 yrs, don't know much about jobs around here (other than insurance)! I'm from the Chicago area, and hoping to return there within the next 4-5 years.
