Hello again! I was going to start a new thread, but thought I would just add to this one. Before buying, I would recommend renting and getting to know the area better. West Hartford has a lot of rentals and is a nice town for singles. It has a great nightlife and a lot of restaurants and shops.

Thanks JayCT. The info is very helpful. I have heard from other people as well that West Hardford is great, but high on taxes. Just today, someone I work with also mentioned Farmington, so that seems worth considering as well. My price range is about $250,000.

Hello to anyone living in the Hartford and the surrounding counties. I presently live in Philadelphia, Pa. I was thinking of moving to Hartford in the near future, I was wondering if anyone could give me some info, for instance I'm a man of color who has concerns to the treatment of African Americans or anyone of color, or ethnicity. I'm well aware, no matter where one goes there will be a element of racism what I need to know is it low or high. Any input in this matter would be greatly appreciated
