Spent the day at the aquarium on Wednesday - it was really nice. We actually opted for the family membership - since our admission for the day would have totaled about the same thing. My favorite - the sea turtles and the otters. The volunteers were very friendly and had the most amazing stories about the animals.

I really like the Maritime Aquarium. I think it often gets overlooked in CT because of the Mystic Aquarium but it is a great place to spend the day with kids when the weather isn't great.

Love the Maritime Museum!! The IMAX theater is great fun and I think separate admission if you just want to see the movie.

Also in Norwalk, try a cruise out to Sheffield Lighthouse. :-)

Did you ever find a place to buy your cake supplies?

We took in the IMAX and the Reptile Show AND the Sponge Bob Ride - which my 10 year old loved. I haven't found a place for cake supplies yet other than Michaels and Williams-Sonoma - they have a few decorating supplies.

sgfludd - I don't know exactly what kind of cake supplies you are looking for but there is an awesome store in Wallingford (which admittedly is a bit of a drive from Greenwich area) called Chef's Equipment Emporium. They sell to the restaurant industry but their huge store is open to the public. They have everything from baking and cooking supllies that you would find in say, Bed, Bath & Beyond, but they have a lot of random and hard to find things too since their main business is in the cooking industry.

Chef's Emporium is great but they do not carry baking supplies (flours, sugars, etc.) that I think sgfludd was oringally looking for. I believe they only carry cookware and appliances. If that is what you are looking for though, it is a great store. I have found some really good things there. Jay

Oh yeah, I don't think they carry much that is perishable. I was thinking more pans, pastry bags, bag tips, etc.
