I'm thinking of moving to Greenwich and would love to buy maybe a home on 21 acres or something along those lines.I do love cows though and I know that 21 acres is not much but I can keep a few maybe 2 to 5.My question is whether the laws in Greenwich would allow this.

The laws in Greenwich might, but the people in Greenwich might not. You're likely to face an issue in this area of Connecticut. Funny, because if it were horses, it would be no problem.

Greenwich is very expensive so be prepared to pay big $$$ for a hoe on 21 acres. You are talking in the millions if you can find it at all. If you can afford it and find it, then I htink you are allowed to keep livestock on that size property. I would contact the Greenwich zoning office to be sure though. I also htink that the neighbors owuld find it kind of cool to see a couple of cows in their neighborhood as long as the smell and noise does not bother them. Jay

LOL - they wouldn't find it cool, I promise you that. At the first "moo", prepare to battle some of the richest people in the country. They will win.

Something similar happened when I lived in New Canaan. A neighbor had a goat, allowed by the town, but neighbors complained about the noise and small. Needless to say, the goat didn't last long.

I think someone has been watching Green Acres reruns.

Greenwich is not a farm town, nor is it cheap. Unless you run with Warren Buffet or the like, forget trying to even think about this.

Upstate NY or perhaps a town further North in CT will work much better and be realistic.

I've already checked the properties so do not worry about that side of things,I know about the cost.I'm just interested more in the laws.
