Red face Land in Mountain Brook Subdivision Cheshire/Bethany Too Expensive?

How much would it cost to build a 2000-2500 s.f. house on a $200,000 in mountain brook subdivision in Cheshire near Bethany (1.84 ac). Total costs no more than $500,000.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Sri - That would leave you with a budget of $300k for the house and that could be tight depending on the level of finishes you expect in the home and the amount of site work required. $200k for a lot sounds cheap for that area but then again I am not that on top of the market there. Generally homes run $140 to $200 per square foot. Good luck, Jay

Jay CT,
Thank you for the reply!...

I do know S. Cheshire (brooksvale) is similar in pricing to that of the Marlborugh Rd/Mott hill Rd are of S. Glastonbury- I was wondering if you might know how much of a house you would get there under 500k when building house on land, anything above 1750 s.f. is fine! (although 2000-2500+ is preferred)

Sri - You should probably talk to a builder in the area to get more specifics. Maybe someone else on the Board can give you a recommendation on who to talk to or even the agent selling the property. Jay

Default Home Owner/Builder

Hi, just by chance I saw your post. I know a lender/builder company in Cheshire and know your delima. They can put you in the right direction to build a home in Cheshire even with the prices as high as they seem to be. Look for American Home Partners on Highland Ave. I have contimplated building in Cheshire as well and still looking into this competent program.

I believe Sri's parents are in contract on the purchase of a property...
