Has anyone used the touchless car wash here (Shell station on Monroe Turnpike): https://plus.google.com/117926460046...ut?gl=us&hl=en ?? If so, how did it do?

And are there any others nearby?

Thanks.

Splash is a "hand wash", but it's OK. In Shelton. Splash Car Wash Your Car Deserves A Better Car Wash

There's another couple hand washes in the area. There's one in Milford across from Beard Concrete on Route 1, but I forgot the name.

And these:
Endless Detail's LLC
Automobilia Auto Salon

Touchless alone rarely works. The only one that I've ever used that was effective was Exclusive Car Wash in Danbury on North Street.

Thanks. I'm just looking for the touchless kind (though I know they don't clean as well as 'regular' car washes).

I'll try the one in Danbury next time I'm in the area.

Thanks again!

Hey Stylo, have you (or anyone else here) used Automobilia Auto Salon in West Haven? They tout hand-wash only and are more expensive, but they come across as very serious about taking care of your car. I don't mind paying the escalated prices for superb service. Also, do they only cater to high-end cars? My Maxima is nowhere near comparable to the Ferrari's and Porsche's that they showcase on the website...

I was also considering Monroe Car Wash & Detail Center. Although they have more than a dozen 5 out of 5 star reviews on Google, many of them seem "planted." Yelp reviews are harsher with actual pictures of a poor end product.

FYI, I tried Kleen-N-Green in Milford a few months ago but they ended up lightly scratching my car. They spent 15 minutes debating about how it wasn't their fault and how the scratches existed previously. They did eventually run the orbiter and buffed out the scratches, but despite that, the entire experience left me very annoyed. I even asked over on the Automobile City-Data forum (see thread) and most folks hypothesized that their excuses were 100% pure BS.

I also considered a small place that Stylo had mentioned - I don't know their name, but they specialize in doing only hand washes over on the Post Road in Milford (near the Stop & Shop). However, it looked a little too rough for my tastes... (see attached picture).

Actually I've been going to Automobilia exclusively lately. Really nice place. The full wash isn't that much more than Splash at $25, and they do a nicer job and take better care of your car. The $15 wash works if you don't need anything done with the interior.

That "rough" hand wash by S&S was great. But I never see them open anymore. I just don't think they know how to run a business. They have no hours posted, they're inconsistent about being there, they don't have a sign/need a good paint job. I don't even know if they're there anymore as I haven't seen it open in a while. Too bad, they got my car cleaner than anywhere I've gone to since, and it was cheap.

Hmm, I swung by that place by S&S two weekends ago and they were working on two cars. But like you said, they need a better storefront image. It just gave me bad vibes, so I ended up turning around in the nearby Aldi plaza and went home.

As for Automobilia, they look great and I am erring on the side of doing the "Concours" package since waxing is important to me. Thanks for the tip!!

I would never recommend an in and out car wash. The only hand my Shelby sees is mine! But I do admit to stalking the automobilia website a few times. At least when I wash my car, I know how the scratches magically appeared.

If you decide to let someone else do it, Automobilia can be trusted.
