Believe me there is a lot more to opening a supermaket than simply having a spot on your website saying you are looking to expand. Jay

I'm sure it isn't an easy or quick process. It was just nice to see that they are actively looking to open another store. I seriously doubt that they would ever consider a location in Bridgeport, but there is a plaza(Nob Hill) near the Trumbull line that formerly housed an IGA market and has some additional space adjacent to the former market. The plaza is becoming pretty active now that Harbor Freight is there. It probably wouldn't take an inordinate amount of time for Caraluzzi's to set up shop there.

Hi There,

My husband will be comuting to White Plains 4 days a week from our home in Newtown which is not very far from the center of town in an area called the Boggs Hill area.

From our experience, homes in the eastern - most areas of Newtown including Sandy Hook would have added 1 0 - 15 minutes more of a commute ( or even more in inclement weather) so we decided on being further west. We found that the prices in the Sandy Hook area were very temping, as they were less than other areas we looked in but it would have just been too far for the commute.

Although Bethel is lovely , we found very little in our price range (upper 300 - lower 400) in Bethel for the home we wanted (4 BR) and we were just guessing that it was because Bethel is closer to NYC and has access to Metro North.

My husband stayed in a hotel and did his commute back and forth in order to get a feel for the commute before we bought .. I recommend this, as it helps get a feel for the drive.

Newtown has excellent schools and summer programs which was a big sell for us as well.

We also looked in NF and Brookfield ...
if you have any questions feel free to send me a message.

Good Luck !

Fionna

I wish they would move closer this way. They can take over Porricelli's space in Trumbull center. Boy did that store go downhill. Dumpy looking and their beef is crap now. Just close already........

LOL. Told ya. Adios: Porricelli's market closes in Trumbull - Connecticut Post
