Are there any self employed people? Any that reaches out within the community to help others?

I own the company I work at. I guess that qualifies as self-employed. There are many, many self employed folks and small business owners in CT.

I might be able to point you toward community resources if you can describe what kind of help you're looking for...

Hi and nice to meet you! Oh, no, I wasn't looking for personal help. I was just looking for other (philanthropy minded) folk who get involved with community causes (hunger/homelessness) to help those in need. I hope more people will think outside the box to not just *give* money, clothes, food or whatever is to individuals but to *teach* them how to get it for themselves. You know the old, "Give a man a fish..."

Constantly giving to people will wear you out... I teach a (fun)/low cost way to earn their own money (with the help of the community) bringing a sense of pride because they learned how to get it on their own (with a little help) and will never need anybody to ever *give* them anything again!

I plan to help Vets for the holidays and pray people will see the value and want to help, by getting involved, too. Early next year I plan to help high school seniors fully pay for college without having to go the dreaded, student loan/huge debt route as well as reach out and teach other people who might be struggling how to help themselves through referral rewards.

What kind of business is it that you have?
