Happy Easter CT.

We will be newly retired and looking to move to CT from PA, Phila suburbs.

Coincidentally, all three of my kids have moved to CT (Southbury, Brookfield and Shelton) over the years and we want to be nearby.

I know CT is expensive but we prefer to be near kids than in our current area.

We are planning on spending our summers in CT and winters in FL eventually so are looking at a place with lawn care as well as other amenities like community pool, gym, and a must have is a golf course nearby, if not right on the property. We don't want to worry about snow removal while down south.

We have researched Heritage Village but we would prefer a single family home over a small condo unit. Price is up to 450,000.

We looked at Great Oak in Monroe online but it doesn't look like they have the amenities we're seeking.

Can anyone recommend communities? We know a bit about CT but not enough to know which areas to research.

Thanks, JMU

Oxford Green in Oxford. Taxes seem a bit high though, even for CT.

Thanks. I'll look into that. Our taxes in PA are outrageous so I'll have to compare.

Speaking of Stratford, what can you tell me about Oronoque?

Nice area, however, the units are shoddy. Most people just gut them right down to the studs and rebuild.

Ok, not opposed to gutting a unit if we can settle on a good price. Probably going to take a ride through Oxford Green this afternoon to look at it. Mayne Oronoque too.
Maybe

There are a lot of nice single family homes on the west side of Danbury. Richter Golf Course is one of the top public courses in the country.
