Has anyone here ever shipped a vehicle from Florida to Connecticut? I know someone that needs to do that and they are looking for reputable transporters. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Jay

My parents did the opposite a few years ago and were warned to stay away from the el cheapo providers... I'll see if they remember who they used and get back to you.

Depending upon how large the vehicle is, the Auto Train out of Sanford, Florida might be an option.

Auto Train Transports You and Your Car - Lorton, VA - Sanford, FL | Amtrak

Normally it requires someone to drive the vehicle to Sanford, Florida, board the train and get off at Lorton, VA and drive it to its destination, though. But I believe there are people available to do just that. Amtrak may be able to give more details.

One of my cousins used the train suggested by kmarc. It is very convenient for anyone that lives in Central Florida.

He used them many years ago, but the few times we talked about that he never had anything bad to say.

I used Reliable Carriers for covered transport a few years back. They certainly weren't cheap, but I was happy with it, and used them to transport a new BMW M3.

Years ago, I "hired" my college aged nephew to transport a family member's car to South Florida. I gave him 100 bucks for gas (enough at the time), $150 for food, and paid for a $200 flight home. He stayed in her condo for 5 days. Total was less than $500 for me. He was happy because he got a free 5 day vacation out of it, and I was happy because I didn't have to deal with the hassle. I'm not sure if that's something that would work for you, but it worked out great for us!

Jay - I checked with my mom and she gave me the company info. While she had no problems with them back in 2011 or 2012, I did see that either yelp or google had them rated pretty poorly. They do own their own trucks and provide transport to & from Florida to the northeast. If bad reviews don't scare you off, you can PM me for the info.
