Perhaps Mr. NewJeffCT and Mr. Fred44 can congratulate each other at their own private love-fest.

America’s best and worst states to live in - Blue States Dominate top spots

But apparently, a lot of people here see things quite differently.

perhaps people making the surveys value things like a good education, well paying jobs, low crime rates, good overall health and access to world class cultural amenities.

other people only care about low taxes and what can the state do for them only - screw everybody else.

Ha I'll agree state has a lot to offer especially in terms of good grub. Job wise think it mostly caters towards insurance/financial job's. Everything else is very limited. I would say school districts are great in some area's and oh my the worst you ever seen. I say job's have had a turn around in the state, but still ways to go. They need to lower property taxes in low income cities though.

I mean the park's here are great in the state; great places to hike. The beaches are so so best to go out of the state for beaches.

Have some great mall's, outlet malls, local store's, Casino's, comedy club's, theater's, river cruises, steam train, adventure park, trampoline park's, rock climbing centers, and so forth in the state.

The winter weather is a drag not too snowy, but enough to be a pain and difficulty with limited snow to do outdoor activities.

All and all great state.

I agree. It is all about the money they can save. But go live in one of those so called lower cost states and see what they pay you. Nine times out of ten your pay is going to be less. They are cheap for a reason. Jay

One day we're the worst, one day we're the best or close to it. Whatever. Everybody has to make that decision for themselves. I know one thing... my situation is different than all of the situations from all other members here. And all of your situations are different than mine. So no way we could speak for anyone but ourselves. I'll just say things are going well for me in CT, working in NYC, but living in Norwalk. There's only a few places in the world where I could see myself having the opportunities I currently have.

Another total joke of a list.

Look at what $300k gets you here relative to virtually any other state.

How about the complete lack of job creation?

How about the insane taxes?

How about the rampant NIMBY'ism?

The ice-cold attitude of the populace? (oops, I forgot...people here just 'respect your privacy' LOL)

The sub-zero winter temperatures?

The highest gas prices in the country?

The worst roads in the country?

The worst drivers on the planet?

The complete lack of appeal to college graduates, and young people in general?

An infrastructure that is literally crumbling?

..Need I go on? I'm sure the gang of CT cheerleaders will chime in with their slanted retorts, per usual.

And yeah, Mass at #1 might be even more of a joke. But at least they have a thriving market for STEM college graduates.

Sounds like you should move out. Good luck. By the way-- most of your list is either wrong, or highly subjective.

Have a nice Thanksgiving.
