A Fairfield resident called police for a woman reading newspaper in her car for long period of time and become concerned. The woman was waiting for church service to start in the parking lot
It's funny that we have a thread about this, but nothing about the violent incident in Fairfield involving the family whose father attacked and brutally beat his wife and each of his kids, and tried to attack a police officer with a knife before the officer shot him dead right in the driveway.

Or the ridiculous town that organized a vigil for them.

Why is it ridiculous? The family was known in town by many and people want to show their support through prayers. You may not be religious but many are and I believe the family attended St.Pius Church which is a block from their house. Nothing ridiculous about that and I am not religious. Jay

It has nothing to do with religion. The town dramatized their personal tragedy with an attempt to turn it into something very public without consulting with the family first. The family was vocal about their dissatisfaction, and rightfully so. Shame on the town.

The town??? Fairfield has almost 60,000 people so I doubt it was everyone in town. The vigil was organized by a group from the family's church. Not the entire town. That same group has started fund raising for the family too. Nothing wrong with that. Jay
