Some parts of Waterbury (West End and South Side that borders Naugatuck with easy access to RT8) would be fine for you and are decent.

Naugatuck is a decent alternative for a FFC commute depending on where you have to go.

There are some areas of Naugatuck that are beautiful and some that are a bit run down.

Overall, not a bad town.

When will you be crossing the Commodore Hull Bridge from Derby to Shelton? Southbound traffic gets backed up into Seymour between 7:15 and 8:00 am weekdays. It clears up after 8:00 am.

Why do you want to stay out of Fairfield County? Also, what kind of information are you seeking about Waterbury and Naugatuck (housing, population, schools, etc.)?
