A friend of mine just moved to Southbury. That area in general is very quite and safe, and also relatively inexpensive. About a 10 -20 min commute to Watebury

Nickle - There are many areas that fit your description. you do not indicate what you do for a living and if you need to be near a bigger city for employment. I would suggest that you consider the Hartford area which has a lot to offer. There are many great safe places nearby that would be commutable to jods in the region. Just a suggestion. Jay

The suburbs of Hartford are very nice and safe. East of the Connecticut river is generally less expensive so I would recommend looking in towns like Manchester and Vernon. There are many jobs for health care workers in the area so it should not be difficult to find one. Another area would be south of hartford. Consider Middletown which is a nice small city with a nice downtown and a lot of nice affordable homes and apartments. Good luck, Jay

Woodbury or Watertown are my suggestions- quiet and tucked away - but definitely close to Waterbury (by highway or back roads if necessary)

nickle u still there? don't listen to these folks; you won't find anywhere in woodbury or watertown that the rent is less than $850. If your single and ur not worried about schools, then you should try to look into moving into these cities. Both have nice to decent neighborhoods.

Hi Nickle, I think you would love the move to CT. Rent for $800 might be hard to find but some studios are available for that amount down in Fairfield county. You might be better off upstate CT or far eastern CT where rents and homes are much less..but then again, not sure if there's healthcare employment there in New London County.

here's a map of CT that might be useful. Let me know if you need anything else.
