Does anyone have a suggestion on where the cheapest place my 20 year old daughter could live in Manchester this summer. She is going to be interning and will have to get a part-time paying job also. I was thinking maybe living with a family to help take care of there kids. Just a thought. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Mom

I have heard of people in Glastonbury (a wealthy neighboring town) that do this so it is possible. Will she have a car? There are opportunites to live with families that have children to help out but they usually like having someone with a car to drive them around. A lot will depend on her schedule too.

Not sure how you go about finding this though. The Manchester newspaper is called the Journal Inquirer where there may be some jobs. You also might consider running an ad in the Glastonbury Citizen which is that towns paper. Jay

Yes my daughter will have her car there. She is currently studying abroad in England and doesn't have much free time so I thought that I would try and help her out. Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks for your input.

The company where she'll be interning doesn't help with the location of housing?

Maybe you can post something on Craigs list...but that place seems to be getting more and more sketchy these days.

I have been watching Craigslist, Roommates, Roommateclick, and the Journal Inquirer daily for a place in either Manchester, Vernon, or East Harford CT and had no luck. I only have eight weeks to find her something and not sure where to turn. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Aside from the places you are already checking their isn't much.
Renting her her own apartment, you might be able to find a studio somewhere in that area maybe around 500 bucks or so..
Or she could rent a single bedroom within a house, but for a single girl it's not all that safe unless you check the people out ahead of time.

I am still searching for a place to live. There seems to be the same places advertised on Craigslist so I feel those are not the safe areas. I thought I found something in Coventry but the price was pretty high. Maybe they'll work with me if I get in a bind.
