How many have died? I think more people die each year with the regular flu then this Media driven Swan Flu... If & when the numbers start to rise I will be concerned. Until then...more people die from mis diagnoses then this new Pig/Bird/Human flu.

It is real, but I don't see any reason to be too worried. The media exaggerates things. If it's a big deal, we'll find out soon. I hardly think a handful of cases is major. As another poster said, once the numbers begin to rise, so will my antennas - but the strain would need to become widespread for me to be legitimately concerned. We'll see what happens.

Maybe it's hype. Maybe not.

Nothing wrong with be cautious. I'm not saying cash in your 201K and head for the hills...just wash your hands more often and pay attention to where/what mucous membranes come in contact with.

I will say it's seeming to spread pretty fast. One person reported in a private HS in queens as having it...now 20 people in that school have it.

WHO has raised the threat level to 4. This is pretty serious for the WHO does not play games, lol.

What is alarming the scientists is the new level of antigen mutation. For once, they can quit romancing over evolution/stem cells and do something useful for all of us.

This can easily become a bovine flu in the coming days/years.

Call me idealistic, but I feel as though we have a VERY capable Government and US Health Department that will get us through this scare.
