Yes, I know it's cold...but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any camp sites near/in CT (do not need to go much further north) that are still open? I'm looking to try to make it out one more time this year. I suppose ideal would maybe be close to a small coastal town or a place that we can walk around during the day that is not too challenging. Just looking to enjoy one more decent weekend outside. Thanks. All responses greatly appreciated!

I believe that at Housatonic Meadows, as well as the other State Parks that are still open, camping fees are waived after Columbus Day. It's considered "off-season."

You might want to try Aces High at Exit 74 off I-95 in East Lyme, Connecticut. This is right on the Connecticut coast. Since the water is still about 55 F in November…the nights are warmer than you will find anywhere in Connecticut in November and early December (which as an occasional camper I know is important- lol). The coast of southeast Connecticut has the warmest weather in late fall/early winter, with temps often 45 to 50 F for highs. The area is safe, super clean, and the beach, casino, Mystic, …etc is close. A lot of Canadians RV here on their way south in November – March. I don’t know about tent camping however, you might want to check it out. I know they fish here all winter since the ponds and marsh rarely will freeze.

Here is their site. Good Luck.
