I live in Stamford by the water and there is an incredible amount of geese(and goose droppings!). Is the city or the state doing anything to control these pesky birds? I see that some have yellow bands around their neck with #'s, but I don't know what that signifies.
When I walk to the beach I literally have to look at the ground to make sure I'm not stepping in goose droppings.

Geese sorry to say are a real problem in Connecticut and most of the USA-

They are very clever creatures that have adapted to our climate and water ways.

Its really a tough call with these birds- they are seemingly everywhere.

Anyone here have a dog that is bonkers about rolling around in goose droppings? Anyone know why a dog would WANT to roll around in goose droppings?

Dogs want to disguise their scent. I've heard that this is a throw-back to when they used be hunters (pre-domestication). If there's rabbit or bird droppings in the yard, my dogs are sure to find it.

Thanks for the response. I'm glad to get some real knowledge on the subject. I had always theorized goose p**p was a form of Catnip for dogs. I mean the dog in question really seemed frenetic about rolling around in it. He was one of those little white dustmop type of dogs.
