My dad was talking about something the other day that he wanted.

It is something that you can plug your MP3 player or flash drive into and have it play through speakers? Does anyone know what this is or if it even exists?

Thanks!

There's many devices available that do what you describe, from pocket-sized speakers+amplifiers (priced from $10 to more than $150) to dvd players to full-sized home audio receivers with on-screen displays of track name/album/etc and even cover art.

You can plug it into anything with a mini input jack, a lot of devices come with mini input jacks. Some even have a regular Ipod dock. Realistically you can plug it into almost anything as long as it has inputs. For example older stereos might only have RCA inputs but you can get adapters. I used to have a Klipsch "computer speaker" system that was really powerful. It was completely standalone and had regular mini jack inputs for the computer but as long as I had an electric outlet to plug it into I could plug the MP3 player into the input, insta sound system for parties.

Into the speakers of what?

For example my MP3 player connects to my car radio via bluetooth. Thus when I press play, it comes out of my car speakers.
