Can anyone direct me to a website where I can learn (easily) about them?
I'm still using my 35mm. I like the pictures better than pictures I've seen from digital. But the disadvantage is I have to wait til I use the whole roll before I can post or share them. Plus it is getting hard to find places that will develope old-fashioned 35mm. (Last time out of desparation I went to Walmart's and boy did they ever mess up my pictures.)
I want a camera that will take good pictures, but want to pay about $100. Does that sound reasonable? And I need to educate myself, I am so confused when I go into a store - a hundred different models, how do I choose.

$100 budget doesn't leave whole lot of options open, I'd suggest a Canon powershot.
Don't get caught up in the Megapixel size, just because one camera has larger number doesn't mean it's a better camera. A 3 MP Canon DSLR from 10 years ago is still going to take better pictures than a 16MP new consumer camera.
If you want a point and shoot - I have both a Nikon and a Kodak EasyShare - both are super easy (the Nikon is older and actually came w/a book, the Kodak didn't) - They aren't expensive, Nikon is more, you can find a Kodak to "break you in" for around $40-$50.
buy a Canon PowerShot A2400 IS for $100.
did you fail to comprehend?
Geez, Dave, take it easy.
Two people have suggested the Powershot though.
Done.
Next question?
Nothing for $100 is going to compare to your "old" 35mm. You do get what you pay for.
BUT it certainly will not take bad pictures.
And the Powershot is a good one to get your feet wet.
Then in a few years you can get a proper D-SLR that will take better pics then your 35mm.
