US Pillars, which relocated from Massachusetts to Cookeville in 2015, is expanding to include wood doors which it will market through the German door company Hörmann which itself expanded to the area by building a plant adjacent to the regional airport just south of Cookeville in White County in 2020. The expansion will add 56 jobs to US Pillars. These are high paying industrial jobs that require specific skills in woodworking and woodworking machinery.

“Over the course of the last 88 years and four generations, Hörmann has built a reputation as a champion of family-owned businesses, large and small. In both our customer and our supply chain networks, we have sought out opportunities to build relationships with companies that align with our core values. US Pillars is an excellent example of the type of partner we seek, and we’re excited to work with them to design, build and distribute fine handcrafted wood doors though our existing network of sales centers. This partnership is a great win for both companies, the Upper Cumberland and the State of Tennessee.” – Camron Rudd, chief operating officer, Hörmann North America

“It is a privilege to be able to continue and expand the offering of this beautiful product nationally and to grow the craftsmanship capabilities here in the Upper Cumberland. Manufacturing is fundamental to a healthy economy, and we appreciate the support that Tennessee is providing in helping to make this possible.” – Dave Uhrik, general manager, US Pillars
