All here have been so helpful in relocating here, so maybe you all can help me with a garden question as well...

I raised me a bunch vegetables, some of which grew too big by now to be inside in the planters, so I moved them to the garden, as I was told "its safe after Easter"....

Well waking up this AM to 27F I'd say it wasn't safe and prop have some if not all plants killed by frost now, which kinda frustrates me to be honest with you.

Soooo what's a good timing fro Crossville area to consider it "safe" to plant all the stuff outside???

I'd appreciate any and all ideas here, thanks!

My onions are doing great, but had to replant the taters last week due to cold and rain. The corn, beans, tomatoes, etc. will go in after May 1st.....

At the airport, coldest time was @ 5:53 AM 37.0 °F

May 1st, now that's a clear statement thanks :-)

Why would it be so much colder here outside town then @ Airport....weird.... guess I still have a lot of "getting used to" to do here :-)

I was always told that it could freeze until May 10th.

Temps vary around here becuase of the elevation difference. Just like parts of the county vary in snowfall. Fairfield Glade always gets more snow than Crossville.

I'm several miles north of town and in the winter will be 4 or 5 degrees warmer and in the summer might be as much as 10 degrees cooler than the airpport.....

What do you mean by real dirt?

Most places around here you get 4-5 inches topsoil then you hit rock.

Are you moving to Crossville?

Im not planting till after May 1. I put tomatos and peppers I started out in a cold frame for now.

Yeah, we have real dirt tinman. I have been adding mulched leaves and animal poop to my garden spot.

I know the is OT, but speaking of animal poop. Look what I got Tinman. We talked about these a good while back that were for sale in Crossville-Too pricy. I got him for $50.
