I heard Carnival Triumph just made it to the port in Alabama. This is now breaking news on CNN and the other news networks. The 4,700 passengers say it was just like hurricane Katrina but on a cruise! I bet all the reporters are camping there to get the first interview with the passengers. Oh my God..
I think it's safe to say that many of those passengers did NOT go through the horrendous experience of Katrina. No one died nor did they loose their house, family members, beloved pets or their family heirlooms and priceless photos. BIG difference!
There was a post from someone whose wife was on the ship on another forum that mentioned someone died from a heart attack.
There were also passenger reports of a number of slip and falls with injuries (including a couple of broken hips) due to the floors being covered in urine.
There was one woman who had a stroke and was airlifted off by the USCG Wednesday afternoon--that was documented and caught on video by a news heicopter. Was the stroke a result of the cruise? Hard to say, but the stress certainly didn't help it.
Well, that death is unofficial. Until confirmed, I will not take some lady's word for it because the truth of the matter is when a passenger has any kind of illness or death it is not public knowlege. Soooo as far as I'm concerned it is only a rumor. And anyone who compares this incident to Katrina has no idea what the extent of horror those people went through. I know first hand unfortunately.

I heared some passengers mistakenly stepped on poop, they sled and fell and got up with stained clothes.. Can you imagine the smells?
