Is anyone going on a cruise here anytime soon? I'm thinking of cruising for Spring Break on the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas.

I assume you like and will be bringing children? If not, your timing is way off.

I thought about all those kids and that's one thing holding me back.

Few a my friends recommended Royal for spring break. They have less families than Carnival.

RCCL will have lots of kids for spring break. C'mon - Those mega ships are built with rock climbing walls, bumper cars, skating rinks, circus school, ziplines, etc.

Virtually ALL of the mass market cruise lines will have lots of kids during spring break unless you select a cruise that lasts 14+ days. HAL might have the smallest number of kids, but grandparents will bring the grandchildren.

Sorry, but IMHO, unless you want kids on the trip, Spring Break is just the wrong time to go on a cruise. It's like traveling during Christmas week and expecting not to see holiday decorations.

Why not select another time of year?

We usually go on one a year. Our next one is January, two weeks to Hawaii.

You will have fun....once you cruise, you will always want to. I think we have been on 15.

All cruise lines are filled with kids from about next week until the week after Easter. I don't know why your friends told you that. Obviously they are not seasoned cruisers. RCI is a very popular family cruise line. I wouldn't consider a cruise from mid March until after Easter unless you have no choice. We are leaving on April 27th. A lot of people will be cruising without kids after April 20th. The worst weeks will be from next week (Mar 8th) for a few weeks because of the college crowd and then from the last week of March until about April 13th.

We go in May, November and avoid the bulk of kids. During summer a third of the passengers are kids, really a thundering herd. THe cruise lines do their best to keep them interested, but got on one elevator where the kids were pushing every button, just riding up and down.

I'm headed out on the Carnival Splendor in 10 days, can't wait!

A week in the Bahamas will be much appreciated after this Godforsaken winter we've had.
