I posted elsewhere that this is the silliest non-story in as long as I can remember.

People fulfil their dreams and accomplish their goals every day, and occasionally benefit humanity whilst doing so. But this goofy woman had a goofy dream that accomplishes absolutely nothing.

I find her neither admirable nor newsworthy.

Many Cubans have done this same trip...no fan fare. Wet foot, dry foot.

Am I the only one who would be scared of sharks? Those are sharky waters you know.

I wonder how many defectors from cuba have become shark food.

Well, I can only state that her success made me feel happy for her. As far as it being a silly non-story, may I introduce you to the Kardashian clan?

There are headlines every day about some foolishness or other that doesn't impact my life one way or another. Just like Diana Nyad. But she accomplished a goal that she set for herself and in doing so, gave some people hope that if you just give it one more shot...

Then that's your problem. Go rain on your own parade.

They usually don't swim it, though. Although, I once had a Cuban boss whose dream it was to swim back to Cuba and shoot Castro. He got here by bribing a ship captain.

Sports figures are in the news every single day breaking records. Why does this particular one bother you?

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing.

EGO is the main reason for her doing this. It only benefited her own ego. Now hopefully she goes home and will be a good neighbor...you know, do something that really benefits humanity.

Who accomplished more this weekend?
The lady who swam from Cuba to Florida
OR
Me, by changing my AC/furnace filters, cleaning out the garage, mowing the lawn, and replacing a worn battery cable on my truck.
