The comparison of soccer is false because you don't see the ruination of so many participants like child stars. They aren't thrust into fame and fortune like child stars. Yes there are coaches and parents like little league that push and that is just as wrong. In fact we as a nation understand that it is wrong when parents and coaches push kids. We all look down on parents and coaches who do that. But we don't do that with child stars. We expect them to be able to grow up handling fame and vices without any side effects and if they don't it's their fault. How is that fair, how does that make any sense? Why aren't we as a nation demanding that these child stars be protected and prevented from such a fate?

We as a nation? Who is this we as a nation? Are you aware of the "Jackie Coogan Laws?" Or the fact that children can not work in from of the camera solo under a certain age. There certainly are laws in place to protect them but unfortunately, no one can protect the few from crazy star-stuck parents who would be bad parents no matter what their kids got into.
The soccer analogy was about rules. You missed the point.
