Good question! I have never updated my status on Facebook but my inbox gets cluttered with updates that my friends have updated their status.

I grudgingly put up a FB profile, but rarely am on it......but I do have have friends that are on FB for hours a day...like almost all day long. It's not so bad, but when you are logging onto FB while with others or at work, it's a bit rude, kind of like taking a call and whispering. And even then one minute or two is not bad, but what I am witnessing is hours, upon hours of this.

Hover your mouse over the status, and click on the down arrow that appears in the upper right corner. You can opt not to see their status in your news feed anymore. I would also disable getting emails/notifications like that...it's very annoying.

I block statuses from my news feed quite often. Who really wants to know what you are doing or thinking 5 times a day...

Those people searching for attention.

See that 'X' at the top corner of your screen? Click that and all your problems are solved.

"I'm going to Costco"

"Just got a mocha latte!"

"I wonder if he'll ask me out again."

"Oh, this traffic!"

"Oooo, look at these shoes I just bought!"

"Well, back to work."

"Just made chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes and string beans for dinner. Yum!"

"He asked me out again!"

You have an option on Facebook to hide status updates, game requests, and anything else you need to. Like someone said, hover your mouse over the side of a status, click the arrow and elect to "hide this status" or "hide all from Marty Motormouth".
