What do you think of this? A high-speed rail line from Beijing right through Canada to the eastern U.S. A two-day trip at an average speed of 200 mph. Is this feasible? It is still in the planning phase.
What a colossal waste of money when you can just hop on a plane and do the trip in a fraction of the time and without all the infrastructure involved in such a venture.
Even the Japanese makers of High Speed rail that once proposed to build between Baltimore and Washington long ago said study showed only long east coast would it makes sense. Now they say it doesn't any more. No private group want to build and operate and too costly to subsidize with ever continuing cost increases.
