Remember when the military was bragging that they can read a license plate on cars from the outer space? That was in 1965 when you had to use a slide rule to do math. 50 years later, someone is trotted out in an orange outfit in the desert and we can't spot him? Can you ask for a more favorable surrounding? Either we don't know the whole story or we should demand our money back.

Please do look it up. It is not "real time continuous surveillance". Why don't you go to your "Google earth maps." every day and observe a favorite spot every day? My house image changed three times in 15 years. I'll leave my orange vest like my First Sergeant told me to do, and wait for the military helicopters to find me while you wait on Google, OK? (Google Maps, Their street view is a great feature to see what your old neighborhoods look like. A great feature available to everyone)

And why is that? This is 2014. I can buy a terabyte of storage for 50 bucks. Even Amazon is flying drones . When are we gonna put all these technologies into useful work? Every inch of Syria and Iraq should be looked at 24/7, and for all we know it might be. You shouldn't be making excuses why they can't do it.
I totally agree. I recall a show about an unsolved murder of a woman in a remote area of Wyoming about a decade ago. With the husband the primary suspect and after a few years of investigation someone got the idea to go back and consult satellite imagery to put his truck on a road near the crime scene. They showed images of trucks in that area just outside the murder to body discovery window and you can clearly see the contents of the truck beds. Only reason he's free right now is it was cloudy for a couple days.
And never mind about real time. It only took 4 mins for Viking to get a Mars image back to earth back in 1976.

They'd rather spend money and resources watching us. You know they got to catch some 'dangerous' farmer with marijuana plant growing between the corn rows. Priorities.
On top of that, this is not something unexpected. This was the third beheading. They did not have to look at the whole Middle East. I will be dumbfounded if they didn't have something unless the desert scene was post production.
