A doctor and nurses went to the aid of a 2-month-old baby girl after a Florida mom left the infant in a hot minivan outside a pediatrician's office for about an hour, authorities say.
The woman, who wasn't identified, faces a felony charge of child neglect, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
The mother told authorities she had taken her 9-year-old son to the doctor's office Tuesday afternoon and left the baby in the van because the infant was sleeping and she didn't want to disturb her, according to a sheriff's report.
This happens way too often and it doesn't surprise me based on some of the stuff I read on these forums. There's a thread in the Work & Employment where the OP blames employers for the actions of these parents when they leave children in a hot car.

No sane person would WANT this for their child. However, the man did what he felt he had to do, as clearly no one was coming to his rescue to help him out.
I hope the baby is able to recover and that things will get better for the father. I also hope any business owners out here who overwork and underpay their employees feel at least some guilt after this incident.
This is like an epidemic! Come on people, keep being stupid, I have my hatchet in my car. If I see your kid locked up and you not there, I'm getting them out.
This wasn't even an accident or a mistake - this woman INTENDED to leave that baby in the car in the heat! What an idiot. Honestly, I hope they throw the book at her and consider placing her kids in someone else's care.
