Something smells really wrong here. There have been no photos of Wilson after being "punched" by Brown, no reason whatsoever given as to why Brown was stopped or why he was shot 6 times. I saw a clueless governor give a press conference and do an incompetent job of answering questions. I think the cops are terrified of more protests and violent protests if they tell the truth, which is really pointing to the conclusion that the cop screwed up, and a kid is dead because of it. You can claim he is a "thug" and post all the excuses you want for the cops. They don't call it the Blue Wall of Silence for nothing.
Given the reaction of the good people of Ferguson, not publishing DW's photo was a good move.

The problem that nobody STILL talks about is not really so much that this PARTICULAR individual was killed, tragic as it is, but that police have LOOOOOOOONG had license to do this to anybody they want, whenever they want, however they want, thanks to the doctrine of qualified immunity and officer safety. The number of officers held accountable for crimes that regular people like you or I would go do life for are basically nil. The only time cops ever go to prison for cold-blooded murder is when they do it off the clock, at which point the legal hammer of thor rains down upon the offender in order to maintain that department's legitimacy.

Cops NEVER get held accountable for this stuff. There are something like 30 states whose local police internal review boards have NEVER found a homicide unjustified in the whole state's history. I'll see if I can find the correct stat so I'm not just saying random stuff.

Case in point... Wisconsin recently passed a law that says that all police homicide reviews must be conducted by third parties. The biggest opponents of this? Of course, the police departments, unions, and prosecutors. Why would a public servant be afraid of accountability?

What is most disheartening are the apologists trumpeting their out-of-context talking points. Conservatives used to be the bulwark of warning America against the impending police state and abuse of power by law enforcement. Now those with the same ideology openly cheer the execution of a "thug". If it wasn't for the protestations of a career criminal, we would not be read our "Miranda Rights" today and would be subject to the whims of whatever extralegal desires a police officer had toward a suspect.

We are a nation of laws and EVERY suspect is entitled to due process regardless of what the public thinks of the individual or his race. The apologists applaud the death of Michael Brown then out of the other side of their mouth defend George Zimmerman who was a criminal before killing Trayvon Martin, and since being acquitted has been embroiled in a series of traffic stops, stalkings, and open threats of violence:

George Zimmerman threatened to kill man in road rage incident, Florida police say | News - Home

There is no rhyme or reason to what these apologists support; the only commonality I can detect is that they align themselves on the side of whoever is not black. Tim McVeigh murdered 168 Americans in cold blood protesting the American "police state": he's a hero to conservatives. The people in Ferguson protesting the violent actions of what appear to be one, lone rogue cop: paid by Al Sharpton

I actually disagree.

There are plenty of photos out there of the officer.

Not releasing photos showing his injuries makes one wonder. There is absolutely nothing out there to substantiate his injuries. Normally there would be.

The only photo I've come across is grainy and out of focus. He should be treated like any other potential crime victim and protected from harm.

Not disagreeing with the ladder. I've seen a photo, but it was a fake. His hairline is much higher. Releasing a photo doesn't endanger someone, today it takes little effort to figure out what anyone looks like. Releasing the photo corroborates his side of it, which there has been little if anything released to do so.

You seem like a rational fellow...do you really believe your above highlighted statement? Maybe you can look at it like as if it were a loved one who was the victim of a crime. Would you want their photo published? Especially after the riots that occurred in Ferguson.

At first i did....but the more i dig and dig and find out facts about that county and the Ferguson PD i'm no longer surprised. I had to wonder "why would they go this far to cover up for 1 officer?" Then I realized that it's not really about Officer Wilson...it's bigger than him and goes up way higher.

I'll give you and example...did you know the person that set up the Gofundme account that raised over $500k for Officer Wilson is a State Rep named Jeff Roorda. He is also the Business Manager for the St. Louis Police Union and was fired from the police force years ago when he was cause lying and falsifying reports. Here's a video of what he did...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4HU...ature=youtu.be

...this same person is running for State Senate in November and is buddy buddy with the state Governor Jay Nixon. He somehow still managed to be on the Crime Prevention and Public Safety Commission.

Now remember when the police chief came out and said he "had to release the video footage" because it was asked for...well that was a lie. They was an investigation on who all asked for any material evidence and no one was on the log for it at all because no one knew of the convenience store tape prior to them releasing it to the public the same day they released Wilson's name.

Name keep in mind that they made Ferguson a No Fly Zone soon after to keep helicopters of media and etc from flying over...saying it was for their safety...like who on the ground has SAMs {surface to Air Missles}.

I can keep going about what i've found out...but this cover up goes way higher up than Officer Wilson. I honestly don't think the people of that town was going to react the way they did. Like they are still protesting each day but the camera's are gone so it seems like it's stopped but nope...they are still out there and getting arrested for nothing like in weeks past.

I normally hate deducing massive, complex issues like this into something so simple as race, and I would disagree that Tim McVeigh is a hero to conservatives (side note: if you want to read some interesting stuff about a CURRENT lawsuit attempting to force the FBI to release the surveillance tapes from the Murrah Building that they swore they didn't have, google "Jesse Trentadue Trial"). I know TONS of conservatives (I, myself, am not one, nor am I a liberal, nor one of these awful "moderates" who really just vote for every big government initiative both parties want) that would never in a million years consider Tim McVeigh a hero to anything. He's a cold-blooded killer and every conservative I know, even the most out-there militia-joining minority-hating ones, would agree. THAT SAID... I can't help but feel like you're right. It's almost like in all of these cases of this stuff, conservatives take whatever side isn't black. It'll change, though, because the government gets bigger and bigger and police state metastasizes every day, and one day, it'll come for one of their sons/daughters/cousins/nieces/nephews/friends/parents/selves. At that point, they'll be wishing they sounded the alarm sooner.

As the famous quote by Martin Niemöller goes...

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
