Wow. Exactly how is Ray Rice a victim? Bumping into someone is a mistake. Punching your fiance in the face goes wayyyy beyond mistake. I think the attitude of Rice's teammates is far more accurate an indicator of the NFL mind-set than anything Goodell or Bisciotti spits out.

I've said it before - the only way to get even is to stop watching.

Jocks. What can you do, except stop hero- worshipping them like a bunch of high school wannabes.

It makes me sick that we worship stupid ass people that can throw a ball, or look nice in a bikini over people that can change the world. You know, scientists, teachers, etc.

Gak. This is why I was a punk in HS.

A FEW Ravens dedicated the game to Rice. It looks like on Torrey Smith and unnamed players if there were any. Not the entire team, no public announcement.

I agree, but I don't think we should worship teachers either. It's really over rated. They're day care teachers for the most part and 90% of what you learn in school you never remember or use. "Education" has flooded people's minds with so much useless facts to memorize that they forget the important stuff. No one should be studying a foreign language/shakespeare/memorizing a bunch of dates you'll never remember after the test ect ect.

The stuff that will prevent future genocides/wars is the important stuff History is destined to repeat itself if you don't LEARN from the past. People should be taught how to read/write, basic science/math, and history(but not the memorizing random dates crap), civics, and that's it.

So true.

I was an avid NFL fan for a long time. But about 10 years ago, I got fed up with all the Viagra, light beer, and pickup truck commercials. It's now to the point that it takes almost 4 hours to televise 60 minutes of football.

Now, I've totally lost interest in the pro game. Still love college ball, though.

Looks like I'm ahead by about 5 years, I stopped watching and caring 5 years ago.

Maybe. However, neither Harbaugh nor Bisciotti nor anyone else in a position of leadership told them not to or disagreed with them. I think the attitude of these players is reflective of leadership and is much more telling of the culture--a culture that even now still defends the abuser.

So you remember every single fact you memorized? You're average person doesn't have a 7th grade understanding of science. Ask them to name a few basic organelles of a cell and what they do. Now that they should know! How's that old English memorizing of Shakespeare working for you? Now that is Totally useless. Stupid projects. How's your foreign language class working for you? I've never met ANYONE that just took a language class and was able to communicate without visiting the country. Total waste of time. All that crap you memorize you'll never use or remember. Most of school is total B.S. Get real. What possible purpose is there in learning advanced math for your average student? Unless you're going into engineering(in which case you should not be an average student in math, but gifted) then learning calculus/trig and anything past the most basic elements of algebra(ie understanding a variable can stand for a number) is a complete waste of time.

As George Carlin once said, they don't want you educated, they want you smart enough to operate the machines and dumb enough not to ask any questions!
