If you are under the impression Massachusetts is full of yuppie doctors and lawyers sipping Chardonnay at a Bistro on Boston's Newbury street think again.

Woman Allegedly Smears Pork on Window at Framingham Police Station, Offers to

"A woman was arrested for allegedly smearing uncooked bacon and sausage on the dispatch window and offering to “feed the pigs” at a Framingham police station on Friday.

Lindsey McNamara carried a Dunkin’ Donuts box full of meat into the police station at 11 a.m., according to police. Lieutenant Harry Wareham said McNamara approached an officer “with a great smile on her face” and said she was there to “feed the pigs.” She then allegedly took the bacon and sausage out of the box and smeared it on the window of the dispatch office. McNamara was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property, a misdemeanor. The pork meat and McNamara’s alleged “pigs” comment appear to be a reference to the criticism of policemen as pigs."

I'm from Boston and I can say with confidence that Massachusetts is the ******* capital of the United States. This doesn't surprise me at all.

It is such a shame, all that good bacon and sausage will end up spoiling in the evidence room until her charges are adjudicated. I predict the K9 unit will be the ultimate beneficiary of the evidence.

The part that puzzles me is that she was charged with malicious destruction of property. What was destroyed? (I mean, other than the sausage and bacon, but I would assume that malicious destruction of property involves destroying someone else's property)

Police: Woman Threw Meat at Officers, Said She Was There to "Feed the Pigs" | NECN
"Her father said McNamara is a student at Salem State University and works at a nursing home, which her parents say they believe is affecting her mental health. Salem State University was unable to confirm McNamara is a student."

I wonder if this meat smearing act was a hair-brained liberal arts professor's idea of civil disobedience in light of all the alleged police brutality in the news lately. With all due respect to the father of the assailant, I believe college can make people nuttier than working in a nursing home. Wouldn't nursing home occupants, being from an older generation have more respect for the police?

She was also charged with disorderly conduct. I presume the glass and counter at the dispatcher window could easily be cleaned up but I think the malicious destruction charge is based on intent and not the actual results of the action.

If it were based on intent, wouldn't it then be 'attempted malicious destruction'?

If someone intends to kill someone and doesn't succeed, they don't charge them with murder. KWIM?

I guess we will have to wait for her court date, Feb 9th to find out the basis for the malicious destruction of property charge. Maybe it is a bogus charge that will be dropped.

What a flippin' fool. I'm sure it seemed like a good idea in her head.
