In 1993, after the World Trade Center bombing, word was that the cops cleaned out the famous wine collection from Cellar in the Sky at Windows on the World in tower One.
Some do some don't. If they are criminals they do, it they are not they don't.
I agree whole heartedly with this, most police officers probably don't steal, some do. However, the real issue is with the other officers that refused to investigate when the store owner reported it. Bad behavior of an individual is one thing, an institution turning a blind eye to the behavior when it is brought to their attention is a whole lot worse.
I suspect that whenever there's cash involved in a crime scene, cops do tend to steal some of it.
